Fantastic Futures 2025: AI Everywhere, All at Once

Starter: Onsdag 3. desember 2025, kl. 09:00
Avsluttes: Fredag 5. desember 2025, kl. 16:00

AI4LAMis a collaborative framework for libraries, archives and museums to organize, share and elevate their knowledge about and use of artificial intelligence. Individually we are slow and isolated; collectively we can go faster and farther.

Call for proposals

The British Library and the Programme Committee for the Fantastic Futures 2025 conference are delighted to invite proposals for presentations and workshops. Submissions are invited from colleagues around the world about organisations, collections, interest and experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies applied to or developed with cultural, research and heritage collections. This includes practitioners in the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) sector and Digital Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, Data, Information and Computer Science researchers in Higher Education.

Inspired by the success of the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) in coordinating large scale collaboration on interoperable technology to advance LAMs, the National Library of Norway and Stanford University Libraries signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2018 to create an open collaboration on AI.

The 2018 Fantastic Futures conference in Oslo was the first concrete step in this effort, adding more events, participants and collaborations since then. A second edition was organized, this time at Stanford in 2019. The last Fantastic Futures conference was organized in 2021 in Paris.
