EBLIDA, through the European Library Associations Network (ELAN), warmly invites you to a two-day event in Strasbourg bringing together policymakers, politicians, and library professionals to explore the role of libraries in Europe’s sustainable transition.
Day 1: Policies – Libraries and the Green Transition
European Parliament, Strasbourg (Afternoon session)
Hosted at the European Parliament during its plenary session week, this high-level conference will bring together Members of the European Parliament and library leaders to discuss:
- The role of libraries in Europe’s green and sustainable transition
- How political priorities on sustainability translate into library practice
- Opportunities for stronger collaboration between policymakers and the library sector
Day 2: Tools – Putting Sustainability into Practice
Strasbourg (Venue TBC) | Morning & early afternoon
The second day will focus on practical implementation, featuring:
- Keynote presentations from experts in sustainability and libraries
- Hands-on workshops showcasing tools, methods, and approaches
- Exchange of practices to support libraries in achieving sustainability goals
This day will also be available in a hybrid format, allowing online participation.
